This is a detailed study used to assess how large-scale proposals, such as new towns, could affect the environment and local communities. It looks at a wide range of factors including transport, flood risk, air quality, landscape, and overall sustainability.

The announcement that Adlington has been removed from the government’s list of proposed new towns marks a significant and hard-fought victory for our community. This outcome is a testament to what can be achieved when people come together with a shared purpose and determination to protect the place they call home.

The Northern Lapwing is one of the most distinctive birds of the British countryside and a special part of the farmland landscape around Adlington, Cheshire.

Often known as the “Peewit” because of its unmistakable call, this remarkable bird is a sure sign that spring has arrived.

A new report from CPRE Cheshire raises serious concerns about proposals to build a large new town on Green Belt land around Adlington.

The report questions the suitability of the site for a development of 14,000–20,000 homes, which could house up to 50,000 people—effectively creating a new town the size of nearby Macclesfield.

The countryside around Adlington has a rich history, a remarkable variety of wildlife, and a long tradition of farming that has shaped the landscape for centuries.

This weekend our campaign team took to the road, bringing the message about the proposed Adlington New Town directly to neighbouring towns and villages.
