Canalside Radio Interviews Cheshire East Council Leader Nick Mannion

Canalside Radio’s Nick Wright, today interviewed the leader of Cheshire East Council, Nick Mannion. Amongst the discussions of devolution and council budget, the Adlington New Town proposal featured.

Nick Mannion, and deputy leader Michael Gorman face a vote of confidence at next week’s council meeting for writing to the New Towns Taskforce last summer that the council supports the Adlington New Town proposal.

Mr Mannion reiterated his apologies for the so called “badly worded letter”. Following the previous council meeting , he wrote a letter to Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, Steve Reed. Mr Mannion says that they received a reply to this letter in January to reiterate that the minister will make the final decision and that decision has not yet been made.
