99 active application totalling over 16,000 houses and land identified with space for 10,000s more.
Cheshire East Council has begun preparing a brand new 15-year Local Plan, and landowners and developers, including Belport, have already put forward large areas of land in and around Adlington for consideration as future housing estates.

No decisions have been made, and there have been no planning applications yet, but Cheshire East Council have a short consultation window on what their plans should contain, which is why we need your influence, BEFORE ANYTHING IS AGREED or ALLOCATED.
We are Supporters of the Adlington Greenbelt. We back a brownfield-first approach, and most of this land is productive Greenbelt farmland. As we’ve been saying from day one, once this land is built on, it’s gone for good.
According to the size of the areas on this map, if allocated, they could accommodate thousands of new homes. Yet the same fundamental questions remain unanswered surrounding infrastructure requirements:
This is a similar scale of development we’ve been warning about since we first saw that badly-worded letter to the New Towns Taskforce last September.
