As discussions about Adlington Park are now taking place across different groups, organisations and online platforms, we want to take a moment to remind people about the purpose of Supporters of the Adlington Greenbelt (SOTAG) and how we operate.
SOTAG is strictly apolitical. We are a community-led campaign that shares information and coordinates community opposition to proposals affecting Adlington and its Greenbelt.
People will naturally have different views, and discussion is welcome. However, conversations within SOTAG should remain respectful, constructive and focused on the planning issues.
What we do not allow:
- Promotion or endorsement of political parties
- Party-political campaigning or mudslinging
- Personal attacks, confrontation or inappropriate behaviour
- Political campaigning presented as part of the SOTAG campaign
Please also check where information has been published. Other groups, pages and organisations may have different administrators, rules and approaches. Posts or comments made elsewhere do not necessarily represent SOTAG or its position.
SOTAG works with community organisations, including SANT, and liaises with local Town and Parish Councils on a purely apolitical, community-focused basis. Working with other organisations does not change our independent status or our commitment to keeping the campaign focused on the issues affecting Adlington.
We also ask everyone involved in the campaign to distinguish between their own personal views and the position of SOTAG.
Political posts and comments will be removed from SOTAG spaces. Repeated breaches of these guidelines may result in suspension or removal from the group.
