Today marked a historic moment for our campaign, the largest turnout we have ever seen, with over 600 people standing shoulder to shoulder in support of Adlington.
Despite challenging weather conditions, the community turned out in force. Dozens of tractors and Defenders along with a milk float convoyed through the local area, the show of rural strength and solidarity was unmistakable. The atmosphere was determined, proud and peaceful, a powerful statement of unity.
We were also proud to see national attention on the issue, with GB News reporting live from the protest. Their coverage brought our message to audiences across the country and highlighted the strength of feeling within our community. We welcomed the national attention, with GB News reporting live from the protest. We appreciate the coverage and the opportunity for our voices to be heard. Those who were interviewed spoke clearly and passionately about the issues that matter to our community. However, we do not agree with every aspect of the commentary, and we firmly reject being labelled as NIMBYs. Our concerns are about sustainability, infrastructure and protecting the character of our area, not about opposing change for the sake of it. See their full report at GB News .
Thanks to your generosity, we also raised over £400 to support the campaign. This is a fantastic achievement that will help us continue the fight.
Most importantly, today demonstrated something that cannot be ignored. Our community is growing, our voices are getting louder and we are not backing down.
To everyone who attended, helped organise, stewarded, donated, brought vehicles, shared posts or supported from afar, thank you. You made today possible.
