Our Biggest Protest Yet!

By: Darren Hilliker

Updated: November 30, 2025

Today, Sunday 30th November 2025, more than 350 concerned residents and supporters gathered at the Poynton Relief Road roundabout in a dramatic show of opposition to the proposed development.

The demonstration featured a parade of tractors and Land Rovers — a vivid symbol that this is a rural community determined to protect its land. Around 400 campaign badges were handed out to those in attendance, underscoring broad support across the community.

With the sun shining across the roundabout, supporters stood shoulder to shoulder, many clutching banners, wearing badges, and sharing their concerns about what the development would mean for the local landscape, greenbelt, and rural character of the area. The scale of attendance and the tractor parade sent a clear message: this is no ordinary protest, but a mounting groundswell that cannot be ignored.

No to Adlington New Town. Protect our countryside. Protect our future.
