By: Julia and Geoff Latham

Updated: November 23, 2025

On Sunday 30th November we will be protesting at the Poynton Relief Road Roundabout.

The date may be changed to Saturday 29th November depending on weather so check for updates.

Volunteers in hi-vis will be on-site to direct you to parking.

We are coming together again to show how much our community cares about protecting Adlington’s beautiful Greenbelt. The proposed “Adlington New Town” development threatens to destroy what makes this area so special, and we must make our voices heard.

This will be a peaceful, friendly protest where everyone is welcome. It’s a chance to talk, show support, and stand together for the countryside we value.

Fancy dress is encouraged (but optional) to help highlight the wildlife at risk. Cows, sheep, deer, owls — even simple antlers (easy to find at this time of year) or a mask are perfect.

We’re hoping to make the news, so bring your best camera smile. Wrap up warm and invite friends, family, and neighbours.

Parking is available on the road next to Starbucks (SK10 4NL). Additional parking can be found at Adlington Park Industrial Estate, a two-minute walk north of the site.

Placards and banners will be available on the day, but if you can make your own, please do.

The message is simple:
Stop Adlington New Town!
