Adlington New Town Stopped

A Community United.

Protesters opposing Adlington New Town

In 2025 and early 2026, Adlington faced the possibility of a huge new town of up to 14,000–20,000 homes across Greenbelt and countryside.

Residents came together to protect Adlington, its farms, countryside, wildlife and rural character.
People campaigned.
People raised awareness.
People wrote letters.
People contacted elected representatives.
People stood together.

The Result

In March 2026 , Adlington was not selected among the Government’s seven priority New Town locations.

This was a major victory for the community and for everyone who took part in the campaign.

OUR COMMUNITY MADE A DIFFERENCE.

But the story did not end there…

Adlington Park is now being proposed as a separate development of approximately 1,275 homes on Greenbelt land.

The scale is very different from the proposed New Town.

But the principle remains the same:

Development must be appropriate, sustainable and properly supported by the infrastructure required by the community.

WE STOPPED THE NEW TOWN.
NOW WE MUST STOP ADLINGTON PARK.
